We had two packed screenings at the Mill Valley Film Festival on October 9th and 12th.  The MVFF did a beautiful job of organizing some community outreach with the film- we spent a morning at the San Rafael Middle School and did 4 screening with about 60 students in each screening.  They LOVED the film, and had very insightful questions and comments.

Lizzie has been playing some golf and tennis over the summer.  Did you know that if can break 100 you can potentially get a college golf scholarship?

Why is it so easy? Over 250 women’s golf scholarships went unused last year. There just aren’t enough girls applying for them. And many women’s golf coaches only work part-time and can’t devote much time to recruiting.  Check this website out: http://www.geocities.com/colosseum/3827/scholar.html

One of the highlights was the AFI Silverdocs festival.  I was a nervous wreck because it was a VERY sophisticated, big-time filmmaker crowd, but they LOVED the film just as much as any of our other audiences.  And we won the audience award at the Newport International Film Festival.  We will be at the Mill Valley Film Festival in early October, our screenings are on the 9th and 12 of October.   Hope to see you there!

Where did you find inspiration to get started?

My family has been incredibly supportive and I have a wonderful husband who really encouraged me to follow my dream and do this career change.
